TIG Wire for Severely Corrosive Environments

Weld Star ER 317L TIG wire is an austenitic stainless steel filler metal designed for welding alloys of similar chemical composition. It features a low carbon content to minimise intergranular carbide precipitation, making it highly resistant to crevice and pitting corrosion in severe environments.

This wire is not recommended for structural service above 400°C or for cryogenic applications. The weld deposit closely resembles ER 316L but with a higher molybdenum content for enhanced corrosion resistance.

Typical uses include chemical and petrochemical industries, marine environments, papermaking, and food processing industries.
