TIG Wire for Austenitic Stainless Steels

Weld Star ER 308L TIG wire is an austenitic stainless steel filler metal with low carbon content to minimise intergranular carbide precipitation, thereby enhancing resistance to intergranular corrosion without the need for stabilising elements such as niobium or titanium.

It offers excellent corrosion resistance, particularly in nitric acid environments, and maintains good mechanical properties at sub-zero temperatures down to -197ºC.

This wire is typically used in applications requiring strong atmospheric corrosion resistance in urban and rural environments, such as pipes and tubes, boiler engineering, food processing, and chemical industries.
